Today we are showing a small custom aluminum Extrusion that we made recently, material in 6063 aluminum alloy, natural anodized finish after sand blasted. There are some typical aluminum extrusions with natural anodized finish which are applied to furniture frames assembly, but this extrusion we made has custom shape on both ends for reaching to a special installation. This extrusion is small with maximum outside dimension 15 mm on the section, it is not easy to mill the end structure correctly because it is not strong enough and would get fragile and bent.
You may think of wire cutting processing, it may work but it is no good for these items because the machining cost would be too much for mass production, approximately 3,000 pieces per day. We have been considering the machining methods for a while and it turns out that we are able to go with a precise stamping press. After we take effort to make the tooling and required fixtures, the custom aluminum fabrication for this job become simple and efficient.
These items are anodized after they go through the sand-blasting process, the surface looks uniform without machining scratch, it is good for the furniture appearance.
